Orthodoxy and me
Given that Rod Dreher took Archbishop Rembert Weakland to task for
and given that Mr. Dreher has now left the Catholic Church for the Orthodox Church,
On the other hand, you might believe the Church has to fullness of truth yet find the people on the payroll determined to obstruct it. It might then be hard not to conclude that rather than be left on your own as a Catholic, it would be better to get what help you can elsewhere in the limited time you have to raise your children. now, therefore, if and when Archbishop Weakland takes a turn in the dunk tank, he ought in turn to get a shot at Dreher.

Isn't part of the secret to mercy to be able to say, "there for the grace of God go I?" And I can't say that with Dreher because I considered his move a logical contradiction rather than a crisis of faith or even a sin. If you believe that the Catholic church is the church Christ intended to found and promised not to leave, then the holiness or lack thereof of its members is irrelevant.

I believe that God takes care of madmen and fools and while it might be foolish to entrust your children to the Church, it'll come out okay at the end. Admittedly, that sounds a bit fideistic.
And of course no one is forced to send their children to a heterdox Catholic parish. Lord knows there are plenty of orthodox (small 'o') parishes around me, although that might be the exception.
